URL redirects

URL redirects are also known as URL redirections, URL forwarding, domain redirection and domain forwarding.

301 redirects

301 redirects are 'moved permanently' redirects, and are the preferred search engine friendly method for redirecting web pages. 301 redirects are easy to implement, or subsequently remove, and normally preserve any search engine rankings for the redirected page. 301 redirects are normally the safest option when you have to rename files or change the structure of existing web pages.
