Related topics: .

Social networks are a great way of gaining backlinks and traffic to your websites. You will probably have seen various bookmarking shortcuts appearing on various websites. I have spent quite a bit of time creating my own shortcuts to the many social networks that are current.

addthis.com offer a great service that allows a single piece of JavaScript to be added to your site. When rendered a single good looking link appears, making it easy for your visitors to bookmark your pages.

The service offers two types of JavaScript code. The first links to the addthis.com website, where the visitor can choose the social network to use. The second, which at this stage is in Beta, is a drop down, which allows the visitors to chose the network on your website, removing a stage of the process. I like this second method. Check it out yourself.
